Philosopher or Sorcerer

So I just found out that the original name for the first Harry Potter book is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The US changed it to Sorcerer's Stone. I don't know why they did it though. I never knew that before. Anyway, I just thought that I would pass that information on.
