21 Humpback Whales!!!!

I went out on a Whale Watching cruise yesterday from Provincetown (which is where the Pilgrim's first landed coming to America - stayed 6 weeks - decided they wanted to look for a place with better soil and more trees and then sailed on to Plymouth) We were out for 4 hours and it was the most amazing boat trip I've ever been on (even better than the one where we saw thousands of dolphins). We saw a young Humback breaching about 10 times in a row, getting his whole body (20 tons) out of the water, doing spins! We then moved on to a feeding ground where there were 6-8 whales feeding. They first put their tales out and slap the water hard - this stuns the small fish They then dive down and blow air up - you see these bubble rings rising - pushing the fish to the top of the water and then they come up with their mouth open capturing the fish, then close their mouth and push out all the water through the baleen. We were really close (20 feet from the boat?) to a big male and when he opened his mouth a row boat could have easily fit in it. He probably weighed 35 tons (an elephant is 5 tons). At another spot there were more whales feeding and one time there were some whichever direction you looked. We saw about every activity they do and we were so close! We saw 21 in all!
